Migrating to a new site

I have been wanting to post pictures along with my blogs .Also some of you(Thanks by the way, for reading my blogs and for the encouragement) have wanted to leave comments..So i am trying to migrate to another portal where these will be possible. This may take a few days or just 1-2 days(depending on the degree of my laziness).
My cousin Avinash has started his own blog on
thelifeandtimes.co.cc
His blogs are awesome. While my blog tends to be more like 'the life and times of me and my family' his blog has a wider horizon.Do find time to check it out.

I know what i did...

Matsya’s vocabulary is expanding a lot these days.I am happy that he is able to communicate what he needs, wants. It makes a lot of things simpler.Communication is so effective. It is also one of the first things we learn from birth.
Today I was sitting in the couch with my laptop when Matsya came to me and said “Amma, Matsya broked it amma”.
The good thing- He was able to tell me what he did.
The bad thing? He broked it!!

You and Me

We had a beautiful spring day this saturday. We got a tease of spring some two weeks back but this was awesome. It felt wonderful to walk out of our home without the jackets,gloves,hats,earmuffs…..Oww!even the list feels heavy.I love opening up the windows when the weather warms up.fresh air is rejunevating.

Random Writing

I havent blogged for the past couple of months.I did write a bit but these never became full fledged blogs.I thought of posting them however..So here we have some random writing...
=============================================
When I get hurt I crawl into a shell.I am a true cancerian that way.Cancerians never approach anything directly. They imitate the crab that way. They either go back or sideways but never go direct.

Story time

Matsya’s favorite books for the moment are “The little Engine That Could”, “My first book of dinosaurs” and “My Secret Seahorse”.V and me have the stories byheart. Now we are able to read the stories while working on the laptop or folding laundry. We just have to turn the pages and the words flow straight without us having to see the pages.Matsya surprised me yesterday.I was in the kitchen cleaning the counter top when Mats came up and said “amma, mashya eeding secret shehorse”.So I put up a chair and sat him with his book. Then I started the story while he was turning up the pa

Laundry woes

I am no way a clean freak but I do like a clean home.Who dosent right?I like cleaning and being domestic.Cleaning feels therapeutic to me.But for the life of me, I can never do laundry. Its not like I detest it but it just feels like a never ending job.I no sooner finish washing(after sorting out delicates, whites and others which is a broad category), drying , I have to fold the clothes.Once I fold I have to group them, sort out those which need to be ironed and the rest needs to be put away in appropriate draws.I should feel happy after doing these million chores which is loosely termed as la

The other day we had been shopping and being as it was the 31st December, people were wishing each other “Happy New Year”.Matsya didn’t understand what that was,so he responded back saying”appy birday to yu” to everyone passing by.Tho he had it wrong, my silly mommy’s heart was full of pride.

2008 was good

I saw Ghajini and I loved it!Granted it is a tamil copy but this one had Aamir Khan and there, I rest my case.So..I picked up the phone and called up my friend V.She is a SRK fan and we have these childish arguments of who is the better Khan.We have been friends for some 15 yrs now but still needle each other like when we were 14 yr old.I am happy about it because it makes me feel that though I have grown up I am still young at heart. And I think that is very important.

I love a good laugh..

Vinodh and me have started watching reruns of “That 70’s Show”.We love it and even though we have all the seasons’ DVD’s we still watch it when it comes on TV.Its like “Friends” and “Everybody loves Raymond”.These shows makes us laugh out loud and laughter is the best medicine. It is a cliché, yeah ..
